The drama department of history can be traced back to 1922, when the women's normal school in the Greensboro Greensboro City Council initiative, hired the famous American comedian William Raymond. Taylor was then known as the professional drama, drama subject. The drama department has with the United States students Drama Festival (American College Theater Festival), the American Association of theater Technology (United States Institute for Theatre Technology), the American League (The American Alliance for drama Theatre and Education) more than 10 drama performances and educational institutions to establish a cooperative relationship, so that students have more production, participate in theatrical performance training opportunities.
The drama department has more than 320 undergraduate and graduate students, 23 full-time teachers and 6 counselors, these teachers have profound knowledge and practical experience of drama drama drama teaching theory and enrich the production, performance, they learn to guide the students in drama theory, drama production, at the same time, the actual operation also personally guide students in drama drama makeup, mask making, puppet drama production etc..

Drama undergraduate programs include: drama, art performances, stage design and technology, technology and art, drama education, drama minor.
